During week two of coteaching at Lakeview High School, many things were learned. Lakeview uses a website called IE Class as their textbook. IE Class costs $425 for the first year and renews at $275. The class was taught how to create links as well as links that work backwards through folders (<a href="../index.html">). Mr. Spano also demonstrated container tags in order to create a CSS layout (see file below). Mr. Spano and I talked about the different things that I could teach. He wanted this experience to be beneficial to both me and his class, so he decided I should do some research and then I can teach it to his class. The topics I am going to learn include web development careers and responsive layouts (mobile and desktop compatibility).

The layout of the classroom consists of Mr. Spano having two desks positioned in an "L" shape. The desks for the students are positioned along the back wall (facing the wall) and in rows (facing the sides of the classroom). It is extremely hard to be able to watch what each of the students is doing on their computers. If that was my classroom, I would position my desk in the back of the room, with the students' desks in rows facing the front of the room. This way, I can see each desktop, and every student can easily see the whiteboard and the projector. I would also make the room a peaceful atmosphere with plenty of small lamps so I don't have to use the main ceiling lights. I understand that competition season is stressful and I want a peaceful atmosphere to help relieve it. Mr. Spano also does not require the competition and I would require the competition like Lake Shore does. |
