Week one of being at Lakeview started off kind of slow. The week before I came, the class had been constructing a Google Slides presentation about computer hardware and software, so on Monday they were doing presentations. On Tuesday, the students took an open-note test using the Powerpoints they had constructed. After their test, Mr. Spano began to teach HTML. They learned html, head, title, and body. Thursday they went over deprocated codes and how to adjust them. The class also learned a few tags that will eventually help them with CSS (<p>). On Friday, day four, they had a search engine worksheet that they went over in class. They also reviewed the codes they have learned this week as well as block versus inline codes. Even though I was not much assistance this week, I was able to learn a few codes to my knowledge, so it was not a bad week.
Audri's Rube Goldberg Machine was really cool. It definitely takes a lot of trial-and-error to perfect something like that. The one thing that looks difficult at my CFE is the different learning styles/code. Mr. Spano teaches a lot differently than Mrs. Candela and he also teaches some different HTML/CSS codes. I think it may be difficult to remind myself, "Oh hey, they don't use this code. They use this one," when I'm trying to help a student. I just go with the flow of the class and take notes when new things arise. I bring my web design notebook with me and have a special section in it for codes they specifically use in his class, just in case I can't remember something.
