This week I created two flyers for the Drive 4 UR School event. The first one is filled with every piece of information from the informative letter. The second one is a little less busy and makes it easier to get the basic information you need to know. For the city website, I unpublished a few pages for past events and pages that were not working properly. I also fixed a few more links that were broken. After several tries to find the section where an event titled "Please delete this" was, I finally found it. It can't be deleted, however I was able to modify it to become an advertisement for Music on the Lake. Of Disney's 15 Secret Rules, I think the first one stands out the most. Disney seems to be a big supporter of individuality. The fact that if I was a "cast member," I wouldn't be able to wear my nerd glasses is ridiculous. I had always thought Walt Disney was about supporting "nerds". All of them seem fairly reasonable except for the glasses one. Similar signatures would help kids keep their belief in the authenticity of the characters longer. Tattoos, piercings, cleanup, etc. all seem like common rules you hear about everywhere. I still strictly believe in my nerd glasses, regardless of my "job". |

This week I did not go to the city because I was on a field trip. But on Monday, I created several "Lake Shore Cares" images for the school. The first one I made is about the road to success. I created a road background and blurred it slightly so that it wouldn't be too distracting. I also created a stop sign for the corner to draw people in. On the second image, I added the "LS" logo and a banner similar to the one Dr. DiPonio had liked. I used the gradient tool to create a unique look to the bottom banner and the blur tool to the top banner. This one could definitely be used as a generic template. In case either of those were not preferred because of the missing "LS" or the smaller "LS", I created a third graphic using just the "LS". On either side of the outside of the "LS", it says "Lake Shore" and then "Public Schools". On each horizontal part of the "S" is a short sentence that when all read together, relays a powerful message.
In January of 2016, the powerball jackpot reached an all-time high, approximately 1.6 billion dollars. If I had that kind of money, I would dedicate at least $150,000 towards new technology and software. This would not be spent all at once, but as an overall total for my lifetime. I would use some to ensure that I wouldn't have to work full-time, but not enough that I would want to quit my job altogether. I want to be able to help my dad pay the bills. I would donate about a third of the remaining money to Lake Shore. I want the school's technology program to be expanded and updated.
