"For font's sake, limit your typefaces" is one of the most compelling elements. Within our website, we can select a maximum of 3 different fonts, each being designated for a specific purpose. One font can be used for photos, including the titles on our navigation and banner. The second font can be used on the headings/subheadings. The last font can be used for the page content.

Living with a Low-FODMAP Lifestyle Of the millions of people in the United States, about 1% has Celiac Disease and 15% has IBS. A Low-FODMAP diet has been proven to help those people with tolerating food. Caitlin’s mom is one of the 15% of Americans with IBS. Her mom follows this diet because it is a coping method. A Low-FODMAP diet removes lactose, gluten, fructose, and many other things from people’s diets because certain diseases cause these foods to cause problems when they are ingested. As a relatively new lifestyle, many nutritionists and doctors do not know much, if anything, about this diet. The Michigan Council of Women in Technology’s annual web design competition has allowed us to bring awareness to the Low-FODMAP diet and several yummy recipes that follow it. This year’s theme is “Food! Glorious Food!” which is perfect for Low-FODMAP recipes. We chose three recipes to share because they are some of the most common foods that people miss when the start the Low-FODMAP diet. The three foods we have decided to share are pizza, potato soup, and cupcakes.
I really liked Keyaria from Lakeview's layout. I think her website was called "More than Meets the Eye". She had different subsections since she used CSS to layout her website. Her layout was similar to this one on Dynamic Drive. I have tried to create my own layout that is slightly similar, but different in style, for this year's competition.
Monday: Mind-map creation. Tuesday and Wednesday: CS6 Tutorials. See Photoshop CS6 category for post. Thursday and Friday: Added tiny details to the website, including hex codes, meta name and tag, title, heading, and footer. I tested the color name theory and each name produces the same color every time it is use. I am looking for a specific navigation set-up that works with the layout we created. I also tried a code I learned from Mr. Spano that I plan to incorporate in our website(<abbr>). Module One: Lesson One: Adobe Photoshop CS6 Essential Tools, Learning Outcomes
Module Two: Quiz - not necessary, good for review if anything else.
I picked that layout because it is different than the ones I've done in the past. I can also use one of the sections for the navigation bar.
